Nearly forgot, apologies for the late post! Not too much to report, a lovely day in the end after very heavy rain in the morning. Yesterday near portnahaven I saw 13hooded crows busy feeding in the heather, I'm guessing maybe caterpillars, though hopefully not the marsh fritillary caterpillar which are emerging now! Walking out across the sand flats at the head of Loch Indaal yesterday I spotted a flock of around a hundred dunlin, busy feeding away.
