The vols and I carried out the monthly survey of Loch Gruinart, decent weather with only a couple of heavy showers. The totals: 2 eider, 5 red-breasted merganser, 89 oystercatchers, 36 ringed plover, 41 sanderling, 205 dunlin, 89 barwits, 256 curlew, 174 redshank, 5 turnstone, 156 black-headed gull, 225 common gull, 156 herring gull, 7 great back gull, 18 blackwits. Lots of gulls, resting up on the salt marsh!
