Monday 13th November

I want to start with a huge thank you to Mary Redman, thanks for keeping us all updated and entertained with birdy business while Peter has been away!

It’s been exceptionally soggy today but there’s still been a few nice sightings despite the downpour. David Dinsley had a Merlin, a Peregrine, and a drake Gadwall all at Kinnabus this morning. Lauren Stewart saw a male Hen Harrier at Smaull Farm.arrierH Margaret was also treated to a Hen Harrier as well as a Sparrowhawk at Shepherds Cottage, Kilchoman. Another (or perhaps the same) drake Gadwall was spotted by Ed Burrell at Port Ellen, he also had a juvenile Pale-Bellied Brent amongst the Mallards. Finally, Mary Redman saw a Little Egret at Craigens this afternoon.

That’s all from sodden Islay today – hopefully there’ll be a bit more sun tomorrow!
