Pinch and a punch for the first of the month. A day of strong winds and heavy rain showers.
Lauren wasn't one for staying indoors today, locating the red-breasted goose and highlights of 3 merlin, 2 hen harrier, the female marsh harrier plus a good count of 786 whitefront all on RSPB Loch Gruinart. A welcome photo contribution from Lauren, showing what the red breasted goose will look like for most: blurry and distant.
The red kite was back at Cornabus this morning, within 2 hours 2 were seen at nearby Kilnaugton.
At Coull in the later afternoon, 2 snow bunting, 2 peregrine, 1 red kite, 2 snipe and a small flock of twite.
Thanks to all for your contributions here and on the WhatsApp group, apologies to any sightings left out.
Mary
