A calm, partially cloudy start gave way to overcast conditions and light rain by late afternoon.
Ed Burrell saw a Merlin down at Cornabus, while James How reported 580 Golden Plover and 315 Lapwing at Gruinart.
I too ventured up to the hides at Gruinart and can add 10 Black-tailed Godwit seen on the floods from the N. Hide. There were also a total of c.90 Barnacle Geese on the flats. On the way there I scanned from Blackrock where 3 Slavonian Grebes bobbed about on a calm sea with c.20 Red-breasted Mergansers and 2 Brent Geese.
