Friday 29th October

Yesterday, George Jackson (visitor George) had seen a Golden Eagle fly past his son's house below Rockside, the bird was on a mission and a few moments it dived into a hedge, but luckily it did not get its' prey, a Pheasant as it escaped unscathed! This morning, they had a brief sighting of 7 Bramblings on the garden wall... Today, the Rochdale birders had headed over to Jura this morning and had seen a total of 6 Otters, at one place, there was a female along with her 2 cubs together. Up at Tarbert, they saw another Whimbrel. They also saw a flock of 100 Fieldfares pass overhead and a ringtail Hen Harrier later on. Back on Islay, they had a male Sparrowhawk over at Coullabus and then another ringtail, this time up behind Ballinaby. Louise this morning, had a White tailed Sea Eagle down at Bridgend, wonder if it was looking for a Barnie for breakfast...
