Friday 16th October
A brilliant day (again!!!) with a brilliant sunset to finish the day...The Bowland birders had their last full day of this visit. At Loch Skerrols, they had Coal Tit, Blue Tit, 30 Redwing, 10 Fieldfare, a Treecreeper, a male Brambling, Mistle Thrush and 2 Little Grebe. Along the road at The Woollen Mill, they had Great Tit and Greenfinch on the feeders with 2 Dippers seen on the River Sorn. Earlier this morning, Bob had heard the GN Divers calling out on Loch Indaal, it was so calm and the Loch was just like a mill pond... Here at home a Blackbird was heard out alarm calling as it shot into the bushes and then a Peregrine shot past... and then 4 Whoopers flew in from the sea and headed over to Loch Gorm to rest up!
