Tuesday 24th March

Some sightings through from yesterday from the Horwich birders...on Kilnaughton Bay there was an Eider and 2 Red breasted Merganser, with nothing to be heard in the woods there. Out towards Ardtalla, there were over 14 Seals, more RBM, Eiders and Shelducks. There were also 6 Yellowhammers at the Keepers cottage close to Kildalton cross. In at Bridgend Woods, they had 4 Goldcrests along with Great and Blue Tits in the conifers. They also had heard a Great spotted Woodpecker, possibly the same one that Alistair had heard last week. Along at McNioll's croft a Merlin was in pursuit of some Starlings! Finally on the wee lochans beside Loch Gorm, 4 Whoopers were seen. Today, there was a Fulmar in, soaring along the front of the crag. AS forecasted a bit cooler today, at least it stayed dry for most of the time...
