James carried out a survey of the Floods today at Loch Gruinart: 93 mallard, 451 teal, one moorhen, 13 snipe, 4 mute swan, 2 little grebe, 16 wigeon, 21 shoveler, 54 pintail, 1 greenshank, 2 whooper swan, 3 red-breasted merganser, 293 lapwing, 30 redshank, 4 shelduck, 12 greylag, 4 gadwall, 7 curlew, 5 grey heron, one merlin.
I was out goose counting and on my travels I saw 10 lovely long-tailed duck with 21 eider in Loch Indaal, off Ardnave point 7 gannet flew by. By Craigens farm a pair of hen harrier flew by together. Gorgeous sunny day here, hope it continues! (Mary)
