Not too much to report today, was out topping rushes again so head down rather than up! Narrowly missed a water shrew running for cover, and saw plenty of frogs and frogs spawn in the ditches. We were out watching the eclipse, too cloudy for any glimpse of the sun, but the dark sky was pretty spooky! Seemed to set the rooks off who gathered noisily by their nests near the office. The birds on the feeders weren't affected at all though! On my way out of Bowmore today I spotted 12 pale bellied brent geese near the Gaelic College; off frenchmans rocks this morning a line of 7 gannets went by south, nice to see them about the coast again.
