Monday 16th March
Same old story, another great day out here although there is a wee edge to the wind with it coming in from the East....Almost a Spring day with Lapwings displaying and many of the wee birds singing away too as well as many Skylarks around too. Bob today had counted 180 Golden Plover and also 10 Dunlin over towards Knockangle Point on Loch Indaal, just beside the Airport. He also saw many Greylags on the grass around the Airport much to the annoyance of the staff there, in case of a possible bird strike when the various planes come and go at the Airport. Visitors from Devon had seen one of Ed's collared Whitefronts last week when they were over birding. Ed informs me that the goose was rung over at Ballinaby back in December 2012, but has ben seen along with 3 goslings.
