Thursday 12th March
A better day out here with the wind dropping away around midday, better still was the arrival of the Open reach boys to give us a "temporary fix" on the phone, wonder how long it will take to give us a complete fix, but as the saying going, "it is good to speak"...
Back to birds, Rob and Co had been over to Bunnahabjhain yesterday where they had 2 GND and a Black Guillemot out on the Sound of Islay, on the shoreline, there was a Curlew. Back over at Gortan, below the coalyard, 2 Turnstone were present amongst some Oystercatcher and a Black throated Diver was out on Loch Indaal. Back up at Kilchoman, they saw a couple of Chough over the old church and later on a Peregrine was out over the crag. Late evening as we came home, we had 7 Hares around the garden in the car headlights! Today down below the coal yard, there were 13 Pale bellied Brents on Loch Indaal.
