Wednesday 25th June
The other day, the Horwich Birders had been over at Claggain Bay where they saw a Red throated Diver and also a Great Northern Diver as well. They also saw an Eider with youngsters and some Comic Terns there too. Close to Ardtalla there was a pr of Mute Swan with 5 cygnets, 8 Red breasted Merganser and a pr of Shelduck with ducklings, but best of all, an Otter! Coming back to their cottage, on the River Sorn they saw a Grey Wagtail. Mary yesterday had a count of 13 Pied Wagtails together down at Portnahaven. Last night was the bird nerds monthly meeting and 15 folk turned up, it could have been more but I was at the airport waiting to pick a passenger up, only to be told eventually at 9pm that the flight was cancelled. Will get an update from James tomorrow all going well about the bird nerds..The pr of Mute Swans on Loch Gorm still have all their 6 cygnets.
