Back on Saturday, Christine Menzies had been over at Ardtalla where she had the good fortune to take this cracking image of a Rock Pipit, On her way back to Port Ellen she had spotted 2 Curlew at Seal Bay and on her return to her house, she saw the Sparrowhawk again...
Karen Graham wondered about the chance of a Blackbird having a second brood... Well this morning she answered the question herself as she saw a male blackbird feeding 2 fledged young..
This afternoon, just before tea time I was watching the wee birds on the feeders and then lo and behold the local Sparrowhawk appeared out of nowhere and chased some of the wee birds into the big holly tree. But much better was to happen as Angus our cat was to follow in after the said Sparrowhawk, so it never had a minute to get any of the wee birds, Top marks to Angus, will give a clap and some supper soon!!!!
