WEdnesday 19th August

Karen Graham sent through her sightings from earlier on today... (from up North)

"Today on road to Tain we spotted 4 RED KITES soaring together close to a small forestry plantation. Have occasionally spotted one in the vicinity but never 4 together. ? a family group  (A few years back the Red Kite population locally was badly affected after the deaths of 12.)"

Just looked on the website for Fair Isle Bird Observatory and I  was pleased to see that the funding for to help re build the observatory has reached £38,478 in just a couple of days, so no doubt the Trustees will be well pleased with that, a good start, with a lot more money needed to get their goal of £650,000.
