Sat 28th Aug

A change in the weather today, and I am glad to be wearing another layer up top to keep me warm, yet only a few degrees cooler than earlier on in the weather when we had the tremendous views over to Tiree and all around. Today we have had to put up with squally showers, but that is the way it goes. The farmers have got their combines out ready to cut their barley as and when they can.
As you may have gathered nothing much to report on the bird front today. Last night I read about an earlier sighting this month of a Mute Swan up on Fair Isle, a vagrant up there, and the first for 2010. It is odd sometimes how common a bird is in one location yet completely different somewhere else, just the way how it is.....
