Thursday 17th March

Another great Spring day over here again. At the back of breakfast time, on top of one of the trees in the wood, a Song Thrush was singing away without a care in the world, while on the other side of the wood, a Robin was in full song too. Not content with that, a pair of Chough flew past, a good start to the day...and there were also 13 Fulmar up on the crag and later on a Kestrel on the wing.
James had done a count of the geese on the reserve at Gruinart yesterday. The tallies were as follows, 6,667 Barnies, 178 Whitefronts, 3 Greylags and also 2 Greenshank.
Mary had been out and about round the Loch Gorm area and had seen 2 Wheatear, a pair of Stonechats, along with a Peregrine, 2 Buzzards, 1 Kestrel, 1 Merlin along with several Meadow Pipits.
