Wednesday 18th September

Just heard tonight that a Pectoral Sandpiper had been seen at Killinallan back on the 6th of the month. A visitor had seen a Peregrine between Wester Ellister and Portnahaven today. It flew across the road and landed on a rock and sat there for a few minutes, allowing Mr Taylor a good view of it. Tom and Jo had forgotten to mention that they had 8 Chough at Port Charlotte yesterday.  Up at Ardnave today, they had 63 Sanderling, 17 Ringed Plover, 14 Dunlin, 2 Turnstone, 40 Chough and 5 Wheatear. Off Ardnave point, they had 3 Manx Shearwater and a Razorbill, while on the land they had 19 Twite and a Peregrine. 2 Red throated Divers and a Sandwich Tern flew up Loch Gruinart. Back here at home, just around 6 pm, there was a count of 21 Swallows on the wires, no doubt they won't be there in the morning.
