As the day went on today, the weather picked up, okay it was rather miserable this morning with the odd heavy shower of rain, but this afternoon it was quite pleasant.
Yesterday Bob was down at Laggan Point, and sent through this image of some Shags which he saw down there. He reported good numbers of Shags present, along with a good number of young with them. On the "Laundry Loch", Bob and Pat had a count of 80 Greylags. Today, Dave and Bonnie had been over on Jura, and had seen a Yellowhammer, Spotted Flycatcher and also 2 Hen Harriers.
Before I forget, it is almost time for our local birders to meet up, a slight change this month, as we will be meeting down at Laggan (NR285555) at 7pm on Monday for a walk out to Laggan Point and taking in the Laundry Loch, so if there are any visiting birders over on Islay this coming week, come along, great to meet up with us. The weather forecast for Tuesday does not look too good for Tuesday, hence the change of date!!!
