Wed 4th Aug

On our way over to Bowmore yesterday afternoon, just before we dropped down to the road leading to Bridgend, at the back of the coal yard, a male Hen Harrier flew over the road just ahead of us as we came along. This afternoon, on our way up to Gruinart from Uiskentuie, at Erasaid, another male Hen Harrier flew across the road, but not as close as the previous bird. Today James counted 535 Greylags on the flats at Gruinart, and also heard a Corncrake calling a couple of times. He had heard it from his house at Grainel.
