Tues 24th Aug

Today, Carl had a Willow Warbler giving a sort of sub-song at Lorgba (Carl's home), plus he still has a few Spotted Flycatchers in the garden. A Sparrowhawk flew out of a Bowmore ditch earlier - plus he had one (big female) in his Scots pines a few days back, with irate Swallows in hot pursuit!
James had a count of 21 Snipe at the reserve at Gruinart. This evening, there were 8 Wheatear down at the Coastguard Cottages, and James said that he has noticed quite a few more Wheatears around. Further down the road we had a Kestrel while close to Loch Gorm itself, a male Hen Harrier was out on the wing.
