On our way out this afternoon, on a telegraph pole down at McNicol's croft, just before Foreland House, was an Osprey. A car came the other way, and the Osprey flew off too before we could get the camera out. Was it the same bird that James saw last week, or even the Osprey which Peter Roberts had seen fishing over in Loch Gruinart on Friday? Coming home later this afternoon, on Loch Indaal just where the River Sorn comes in, was a large flock of Greylags. Up on the rape field at Rockside there was another even larger group of Greylags present.
George the other day had been returning home along the top of Loch Indaal, and had seen on the shoreline a Raven picking at the remains of a Diver. The Diver had been dead for quite some time, not "freshly dead".
