A family of Mute Swans taken yesterday by Armin on the canal just beside where he lives, sorry not here on Islay! He too was commenting that Mute Swans are not so common where he lives!
Yesterday, James had counted a flock of 470 Dunlin all in one flock on Loch Gruinart, there were others there too, but in other smaller groups. There were also 5 Turnstone and 13 Knot.
Coming back home from Gruinart this afternoon and just as we were approaching the road round Loch Gorm, a male Hen Harrier was seen out on the wing, fairly close to the road. There were a few Wheatear still to be seen, but not as many. The number of Swallows present appears to be down a bit so some obviously have headed off!
