Yesterday Carl had been out round the loop from Port Charlotte to Portnahaven and back home over the hill round by Kilchiaran. At Port Mor there had been 6 Siskin and a few young Goldfinches feeding on the thistle heads, while Redpolls were present along at Carn. On Loch Indaal itself, numerous Guillemots with their young were heard calling between themselves. Round at Kilchiaran, Chough were seen and 6 young Fulmar were still on their nest ledges.
Visitors from Edinburgh had seen a Barn Owl out hunting the other evening.
Today, James had a count of 418 Rock Doves in one of the stubbles after the arable silage at Grainel.
