James reports 630 dunlin on Loch Gruinart yesterday (Monday 25th). This tired looking Tachina grossa was on the moorland trail at the reserve today.

Some less common species require descriptions (ideally with a photo) for them to be accepted into the records of the Argyll Bird Club (ABC), Scottish Ornithologist's Club (SOC) or as national rarities (BBRC). A list of species requiring descriptions by ABC and SOC can be found on the ABC website. Details and photographs of all rare bird sightings should be sent in (preferably emailed) as soon as possible after the sighting to Jim Dickson, 11 Pipers Road, Cairnbaan, Lochgilphead, Argyll PA31 8UF.
