Saturday 20th June
The last few days, Margaret and myself have been watching a couple of hen Pheasants and their respective broods.. The first brood of young chicks were 6 in total with the second brood consists of 10 smaller, younger chicks. The really great news is that so far both broods have not been predated, so we really must try to keep an eye on them, not just for our curiosity, but we always thought the maternal instinct in Pheasants was really poor... But we will try to keep an eye on them....
