Tuesday 27th January
This morning James saw the Glaucous gull down at the mouth of the burn as it enters Loch Indaal at Uiskentuie. Here at home the ringtail Hen Harrier was out looking for some food for its' breakfast. It took some time as it quartered back and forward over the fence and especially where the fence drops away and where there is more cover, but no joy! This evening a Woodcock flew off the verge side at Culbuie. Tom Callan sent an e mail through this afternoon. Tom has over the past few years recorded the sightings from the blog and these are then sent through to the Argyll Bird Club. Tom's tally for all your sightings for Islay came to an amazing 4241, well done to all those of you out there who contribute...and well done to Tom for keeping an eye on us!!!
