Tuesday 22nd April

Another dry day, so should not really complain... Yesterday, Carl had been in Bridgend woods where he had Redpoll, Siskin, Goldfinches, Coal Tit, Great Tit , Blue Tit, Long tailed Tit and also Treecreeper. Down at Rannochmore he had seen a White Wagtail and on his way there, at the sewerage treatment works outside Bowmore there were hundreds of Sand Martins flying around. The Argyll birder had seen 7 Greater Scaup along with 12 Tufties on Loch Gorm, round at Ballinaby he had a flock of 431 Golden Plover. Today, the Rochdale birders had heard 2 Blackcaps singing away in Bridgend woods as were 2 Goldcrest also there. They had a further 2 Blackcaps singing down at Kildalton while back outside Port Charlotte, there were 150 Golden Plovers present. Here at home, there appeared to be more Swallows flying around this afternoon.
