Monday 24th December

Another day in... We awoke to freezing fog this morning, but the fog soon lifted, but it still stayed in around freezing point for most of the day...No, not on Islay, but that was it today here out on the mainland. Mind you being in a different place you often have different birds seen. Here , where we are for Xmas, we have different regular bird on the bird table. Nuthatch, Tree Sparrows are regulars each day with many Coal Tits, Blue Tits, Great Tits along with up to 10 Long tailed TIts appear and help to polish off the food on offer. We have also had 2 different Great spotted Woodpecker, a Repoll and also 3 visits from a Brambling.
Earlier on this evening, James was on the phone, He too is over on the mainland for a few days and today had seen a Water Rail and then shortly afterwards, a Kingfisher.
