Friday 31st August

Some sightings through from James Butcher who had seen the following waders on Loch Gruinart yesterday.. a count of over 1700 Dunlin, at least 300 Sanderling, 67 Blackwit, 5 Knot, 3 Barwit and 8 Golden Plover. He also saw a Merlin there as well.
This morning, Distillery Dave had seen a Snipe down at Machir Bay. Gary had seen a Kestrel over at Bunnahabhain, a Sparrowhawk was present at Persabus with an adult White tailed Eagle over Kilmeny. Early evening, Margaret saw a ringtail Hen Harrier fly past, over our garden and then shortly afterwards I counted 30 Chough ducking and diving in their acrobatic, noisy flight on their way to the roost.
