Wednesday 22nd July
John Armitage sent an e mail through late last night to say that he had seen a Laughing Gull down at Portnahaven, John has been away recently for some time but it was someone else in the village that notified John to say that he had seen it several times of late... Gary and also Bob had gone down this morning but no sign of it.... Yesterday morning while we were doing the WeBs count, we had a couple of Sedge Warblers, but I did not count them in our figures as they were on the wrong side of the fence!!! Later on, while I was round at Bob's house, there was a Whitethroat calling at the water treatment plant across the road from Bob's house. Back on Sunday, Mandy had a couple of Turnstone sheltering on the shoreline down at Gartbreck. This afternoon, on our way back home, there was a male Hen Harrier out quartering its' patch down beside the lochans at Rockside road end.
