Tuesday 14th July

Later on yesterday evening, Sam and Gary had been out for a walk over at Gruinart, and it proved a success with 4 Corncrakes and also a Quail being heard. The weather here today has been great, so a day for getting on with some "outside" work, mainly digging a pond, the days are past for manual work so we had Christopher in with his tracked digger, hole excavated now, liner placed and already about half full of water, so time will tell what we will get in it later, only time will tell. We saw a hen Pheasant out late this afternoon, from the kitchen window, with 6 new youngsters, wonder how many will make it, the numbers that make it through is really low, say no more....
