Monday 27th April
Another bitter day over here with squally, dirty showers some of which were sleet, others with some snow and others just ordinary rain... The other day Alistair Hucthison had seen a male Hen Harrier over the felled plantation down at Avonvoggie, with a Cuckoo in the trees across the road. Earlier in the week, he had heard a Green Spotted Woodpecker drumming away close to Eallabus just out of Bridgend. Carl had a Cuckoo at Cattadale over the weekend, with a couple of Barnies at Gruinart and a Sparrowhawk at Port Charlotte. Yesterday, Carl saw 15 Whimbrel at Blackrock.
If you are around, remember the bird nerds meeting at 6pm at the car park at Gruinart, going down to the "old hide"
