Thurdsay 12th February

The Hampshire birders yesterday had seen 6 Turnstone down on Loch Indaal, below the generating station at Bowmore. Coming back from Bridgend late morning today, we had the flock of around 60 Scaup at Blackrock and the Pale bellied Brent Geese were just past Uiskentuie. Late afternoon a Golden Eagle was spotted out over the crag back here at home. Steve Holliday who gave us some of his sightings the other day, had a good short break here with a total of 72 species seen basically over 2 full days, as he arrived on the afternoon ferry arriving at 3pm and leaving from Port Ellen on the 0945 sailing, so not much birding on Islay on his last day!
