Monday 2nd February
Ian is away this week, off Island on his travels, so I'm (Mary) looking after the blog for a few days. Apologies in advance for spelling mistakes...
I checked the sightings book at the Loch Gruinart Visitor Centre, someone was in the South Hide over the weekend and saw an immature white-tailed eagle overhead, and saw it fly over above the centre itself. They also had a distant golden eagle, 480 golden plover, 4 greenshank, 7 pintail and some of the 'usuals' (mallard, wigeon etc...).
Today I saw two female bullfinch eating willow buds at the beginning of the Woodland Trail. On my way home I had the imm Glaucous gull at Uiskentui burn.
