Jim Pratt from the Scottish Borders had seen a white phased Greenland Falcon down at the Rockside roadend late this afternoon. . Some birds from Jim , back on the 27th (last Saturday) he had a male Hen Harrier at Saligo, a male Sparrowhawk at Ballinaby, a flock of 20 Curlew at Coull and a Brambling at Kilchoman. Sunday, a female Sparrowhawk at Machrie, a ringtail Hen Harrier at Carnduncan and also a female Hen Harrier at Kilchoman. A male Sparrowhawk was seen at Ardnave on Monday. On Tuesday, there was a male and a female Peregrine at Kilchoman with the hen bird taking a Rock Dove. A female Sparrowhawk was seen at Kilchoman the same day, with 6 Chough seen down on the dunes behind Machir Bay. On Wednesday, Jim saw the juv. Peregrine out hunting Rock Doves at Kilchoman, a count of 30 Chough at Coull and also a female Peregrine at Loch Gorm. He also noted Buzzards as being widespread , all around! Thanks Jim for your birds, as ever much appreciated. This afternoon I saw a flock of around 40 - 50 Lapwings flying over the dunes here at home... A great sunset this evening, a great end to the day, by the way we had some rain last night, with more to come next week by the sound of things too...
