30th September

Well, the northerlies duly arrived, quite light ones accompanied by equally light rain for much of the day. If lots of geese have arrived either no-one seen them or if they have no-one has bothered to say so. On the other hand, perhaps they are still on the way. Over 500 Greylags on the mud at Bridgend seemed to be pleasing some visitors, though.

Among  the very few records to be posted was the summering Whooper Swan seen at Leorin again, by Martin, while Clive raised the total of Little Egrets at Gruinart to 9, which maybe the largest number seen there so far.

Jim Dickson, Argyll Bird Recorder, has suggested looking out for Yellow-browed Warblers, as there are 3 on Tiree, and late September into October is the peak time for them to appear.
