Friday 27th September

Mostly dry and sunny, but cool and breezy again from the north.

The northerly winds continue to bring in the first, fairly early arrival of geese to Islay, with 185 Barnacle Geese at Gruinart this morning c/o James How and Clive Mc. (who also notes that the Little Egret count for yesterday went up to 7 on Loch Gruinart).

The only other bird news was of a dark Arctic Skua seen by Clive Mc. as it flew over the head of Loch Gruinart towards Loch Gorm this afternoon.
