Back on Wednesday, the really windy day which we had, well Ron from Islay info had seen 25 Whoopers fly South down Loch Indaal and on to Ireland.
This morning, Distillery Dave had a Sparrowhawk among the trees at Rockside with a Merlin seen at the road end there shortly afterwards. This afternoon, I went over for a short spell to Gruinart with Distillery Dave to see if there were any more Barnies in. We were well pleased as when we came over the hill, there was indeed a small group of geese flying in, high up. We waited and saw them land on the estuary and counted 42 in total. Later on from the South hide, we saw many Ducks with around 220 Lapwing and a similar number of Golden Plover flying around. We also saw a handful of Swallows in the air there as well. We also had a Coal Tit seen in the undergrowth up beside the viewing platform.
