Here we go again with the normal starting line for 2018, the weather... It may be a shade drier tonight, but late afternoon, I checked the rainfall and there was 3.1 inches in the gauge!!!
Yesterday was David and Janet Franklin's last stay of their short trip to Islay, but they have had a good trip with 84 species recorded....they saw 2 Merlin from the Glen road, with 3 Long tailed Duck (2 male and a female), over 10 Slavonian Grebe on Loch Indaal and a pair of Shoveler present at Gruinart. A fantastic list of birds folks...Gary today had been up at Bunnahabhain where his top birds included 3 different Golden Eagle, a White tailed Eagle, a ringtail Hen Harrier, a Dipper and also a Grey Wagtail.
The weather has not been that gre, but certainly the birds have been top class, what a place to do some birdwatching!!!
