Tuesday 25th February

Just before Sunderland this morning we had a near miss with a ringtail Hen Harrier as it drifted across the road, how it did not come in to contact with us is a bit of a mystery, iwas low and did not try to avoid us.... Paul today had seen 2 large Canada Geese up at Ardnave, He also saw the Iceland Gull over at Duich Farm with a male Hen arrier present there as well. In the fields behind Bowmore, Paul had another male Hen Harrier, a flock of around 100 Skylarks with 4 Yellowhammers and a Grey Wagtail overhead. Finally over at Gruinart, Paul had a Greenshank. And yes, the wind has picked up, no ferry this morning and the ferry this evening diverting to Port Askaig...
