Saturday 2nd July

Another great image of a Corncrake taken the other week by Mark Johnson who kindly sent it through today. When we were changing over one of the cottages this morning, what was lurking about in the nettles, one of the Corncrake chicks that had been seen the previous week, needless to say there was not a camera to hand! Yesterday Mary had seen, down between Portnahaven and Claddach, a Buzzard being mobbed by around 15 Terns, 2 Oystercatchers and a Common Gull, bet the Buzzard won't be flying in that area for a wee while! Today over MacKenzie Island, 25 Little Terns were flying around along with 10 Arctic Terns. Mary can't recall having seen Little Terns there before.
