Mary and Michal had done a count round Loch Gruinart yesterday, so here are the "scores on the doors". 124 Oystercatchers, 122 Ringed Plover, 89 Dunlin, 1 Sanderling, 44 Common Gulls, 32 Herring Gulls, 2 Lesser Black backed Gulls, 3 Greater Black backed Gulls, 3 Black headed Gulls, 4 Redshank, 25 Eider Duck, 1 Great Northern Diver, 4 Red breasted Merganser, 10 Whimbrel, 4 Curlew, 5 Bar tailed Godwit, 34 Shelduck, 7 Barnacle Geese, 2 Mute Swan, 1 Shag, 4 Arctic Tern and 6 Turnstone. Ardnave Loch had 18 Turnstone, 2 Mute Swan, 1 Herring Gull, 2 Common Gulls, 6 Oystercatcher, 4 Redshank, 1 Lapwing and 1 Mallard. Yesterday earlier on, Michal had seen a pair of Greylags along with 4 young goslings on the hill at Ardnave. He also saw a male Hen Harrier carrying food, 3 Reed Buntings, 2 Sedge Warblers, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 1 Dunlin singing briefly, and a couple of Twite. He also heard a Whinchat mimicking Chaffinch, Song Thrush, Reed Bunting and Red Grouse....
