A better day with the odd squally shower, but beware the forecast for tomorrow does not sound so good, we will wait and see.... Jon and Angie had a Sparrowhawk down at Foreland today. From the hide at Gruinart they saw a female Pintail, and on the brambles beside the hide they saw a newly emerged Small Copper butterfly. Over in the wood beside Loch Skerrols, a Treecreeper was seen feeding young, and also 5 Roe Deer were there too. Other visitors had 2 Cuckoos down at Heatherfield on the way to Portnahaven. Round at Ballinaby some Whimbrel were present along with the Curlew, while over towards Bowmore on the shoreline, the Pale bellied Brent Goose was still present. All I had was the Corncrake calling when I was out in the garden, better than the Cuckoo calling, but that might happen later on!!!
