A quiet day on the bird front, but a busy day with the cottages as Saturday is changeover day. Late this afternoon, we saw something that neither of us had seen before. Out on the grass in front of the house there was a female Pheasant along with a couple of male birds. The female kept facing the male birds, not aggressively, but if they advanced, she kept reversing away from them, but not turning around and making a hasty retreat. We must have watched this going on for over 5 minutes, before we gave up, not the birds! It was rather odd to watch, seeing the female reversing around with the males not really getting much closer.
Michal had seen an Otter along with 2 cubs when he was up at Ardnave earlier on this week.
