Thursday 17th January

Quite breezy day today with stronger winds forecasted for tomorrow. Bob has been out birding around Bowmore and Neriby. He saw a flock of 35 meadow pipits, brent goose in the flock of barnacle geese, flock of 120 golden plover and 3 long-tailed tits. At Sunderland he saw the red-breasted goose. Past Kilchoman he had a good view of a golden eagle flying low. Mary saw 8 wood pigeons on the reserve at Gruinart. Family group of eight whitefronts with red collars has been seen moving between Saligo and Ballinaby fields.
