This afternoon, we found this drake Mallard on top of the kitchen table over at Grainel (James's house) so we just had to sample the great cake that Sally had made... Down at Moulin we saw a Spotted Flycatcher and also a Sparrowhawk. Here at home there were 16 Pied Wagtails out on the lawn , late yesterday afternoon, and this morning on the overhead cables there was a mixed group of about 50 House Martins and Swallows on the overhead power lines. This evening the House Martins were still around. Come to think back to last week, on our way down to the Bird Fair, we saw around 50 Swifts close to Thirsk.
