Monday 30th April
Another month almost in, another sunny day again, the temperature was in double figures this afternoon, and this evening as I look out there is blue sky and not a cloud to be seen! Earlier this evening, Mary had seen a male Sparrowhawk nobble a Wheatear, after flying back here for the summer, well I ask you... Yesterday Carl had 17 Whimbrel down at Port Bhan between Port Charlotte and Bruichladdich. At Loch Skerrols, there were lots of Sand Martins around and several Blackcap singing away there too. Today, a Cuckoo was seen again on the reserve at Gruinart and the Hampshire birders had 28 Whimbrel close to Gortan and 2 Sandwich Tern at Bruichladdich.
