Speaking with James today and he was saying that he has had the best part of an inch more rain in total than we have had here, and we have only had 4.5" so far... He also had seen a Porpoise fin earlier on at Saligo. Peter had been out round the Rhinns this afternoon, between Bruichladdich and Port Charlotte there were 125 Curlews together in a field. Further on, down at Portnahaven, he had an adult Iceland Gull on Orsay Island, and also an adult Glaucous Gull. The Glaucous Gull then flew over to McKenzie Island where there were 20 Greater black backed Gulls present. Orsay Island is the island with the lighthouse on it, with McKenzie Island being its' neighbouring island. Back here at home this morning, the geese were put up all of a sudden, and on quickly checking, it was a juv. Golden Eagle that had spoofed them! The Eagle was then seen off by the pair of Ravens, no doubt because the Eagle was in their territory!
