Down in the Machrie field at Rockside Farm today, there were 4 corners to the field as usual, but each corner had its own group of birds present. There were some Rock Doves with a few Hooded Crows along side them, in another corner, over 200 Greylags with 2 Whooper Swans, another corner held some Jackdaws and finally a mixed group of Gulls. Later on this afternoon, a Peregrine Falcon flew over the house and put up the Rock Doves off the crag.... earlier on and a bit higher up, the Air Ambulance had flown past! On Tuesday evening, the Islay Bird nerds will be meeting up at Gruinart at 6.30pm at the RSPB car park, and we aiming to go down to the new hide for a spot of bird watching, all welcome if you are around, see you there....
